Feudo Disisa comprises about 988 acres of which approximately 370 acres are vineyards and 247 acres are covered by olive groves. On the sloping landscape of Monreale (DOC area) within the Palermo District in northwest Sicily, the Disisa estate stretches between the valleys of Belice and Jato. Di Lorenzo family has owned the estate for nearly 200 years. In 1920, they founded the Azienda Agricola Disisa. In 2000, in conjunction with plans to build the new cantina, the company was renamed Disisa Srl. Since then, the Di Lorenzos have been able to further combine the ancient traditions with the most up-to-date technology, passion, commitment and expertise to produce the high quality recognized wine and olive oil products we have grown to appreciate. The grape varieties cultivated are Catarratto, Grillo, Inzolia, Chardonnay and Viognier (white) and Nero d’Avola, Perricone, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (red). The name Disisa derives from the Arab “Aziz” which means “splendid” a name well suited for the beauty and magnificence of this landscape.
